We can now let you know the content of the Funday planned for the 12th July. The Juniors and Seniors are planning an afternoon of cricket at the Green. We plan to commence the proceedings at 2pm with a fantastic tri-team tournament with Junior, Junior Parent and Senior teams.
There will be three Ten/10 over matches, which will guarantee each team two matches through the afternoon. The teams will pit their abilities against each other with a cunningly devised array of rules that should provide a playing field as level as the wicket and a considerable quantity of player participation!
While the hard-ball tournament is underway, we will have a series of Kwik Cricket games being played by our soft-ball cricketers. There will also be a host of challenges for both young and old to participate, so we think there really is something for everyone.
However if playing isn’t your cup of tea, but the sound of a cream tea is, then why not come along to cheer your favourite team, but make sure you bring a rug, perhaps a picnic and join us for this rather unusual event. As well as the cream teas being served throughout the afternoon, there will also be a bar for your favourite tipple or two.
Age-group Reps will be in touch, in due course, to find out who would like to take part.

Thank you to everyone who helped ensure that the BBQ was such a success last Friday. The weather was kind to us and the Club was able to enjoy a very social evening in beautiful surroundings.
Particular thanks to Sarah and Chris Bishop, Toni Hearnden and Dominic Carter for their excellent planning and organisation. The help of those who stepped forward to assist on the night was also greatly appreciated.
We will let you know how much your ‘eat, drink and be merrying’ will assist the Club in due course.

Two notices regarding the use of the facilities:
1. Road Safety -Please drive slowly and carefully on the narrow roads linking the A329 and The Green. In addition to our young cricketers, there are a number of children who live in the houses along this road. Please reduce the risk of any accident.
2. Glasses - Please take any glasses back to the Six Bells. This is an often an unwanted task completed by the coaches at the end of long training session. Please show your consideration and set an example to our young players.

Preparations for the new season are beginning earlier this year and all of us are looking forward to the Summer’s cricket. I do not want to mention too much about the weather but, after the last 2 summers, it should be third time lucky! The Club will pass as much information to you as possible through the website and by e-mail. However, if you need to know more, please feel free to contact the Club.
Our main aims for this season are to:
- Consolidate our ability to provide enjoyable cricket training and fixtures for our players.
- Provide fixtures for our older players through links to the Senior Club.
- Provide indoor training for hard-ball cricketers.
- Source nets to offer better training.
- Organise a Kwik Cricket tournament against local clubs.
- Develop the social aspect of the Club.
