End of Training - 2010

Written by Sean on July 16th, 2010

We’re afraid that the end of the training season has come along all too quickly.   Thank you to our coaches and to all of those who have participated.  Individual age-groups may arrange additional sessions and you will be notified of these.  In addition, some age-groups will continue to play fixtures - good luck to the teams.  Please let us know of any improvements we could make to the Club by e-mailing: sean@warboroughjuniors.co.uk .

Please take a look at the Lost Property Section in case a much-loved item can be reclaimed.

Enjoy the Summer holidays and any cricket remaining this year.  See you again in 2011.

Girls Cricket

Introductory ‘Taster’ Sessions

The Club would like to promote Girls Cricket in the future.  Of course, there is nothing to prevent girls from joining in with our existing squads but, in reality, other clubs have found that, by running girls groups, a higher level of participation has been gained.  Therefore, to see if there is interest out there, Mike Hobbs and his wife Janet will run some introductory ‘taster’ sessions starting this Friday on the Green in the area of the football pitch at 6pm.  So girls, please come down to have some cricket fun.  For more details, e-mail: sean@warboroughjuniors.co.uk

Coaching Courses for Ladies/Girls

The Oxfordshire Cricket Board is keen to run a Coaching Course for Ladies and Girls Over 16.  Absolutely no knowledge of cricket is required prior to the course.  For any Mums out there who would like to help develop the training of our players and gain a new skill, please get in touch if you are interested: sean@warboroughjuniors.co.uk

LOST PROPERTY

Written by Sean on May 8th, 2010

If any items of equipment or clothing have been left behind at the end of a training session or fixture, the Coaches or Managers will keep them with the Age-group kit, if possible.  Missing items can be collected the following week.

In addition, details of lost property will be highlighted on the Lost Property page on the website Home Page.  If you have lost an item and would like it advertised on the site, please e-mail the details to: sean@warboroughjuniors.co.uk

In the meantime, help yourselves by clearly labelling personal items and clothing.

PROPOSAL FOR PERMANENT CRICKET NETS

Written by Sean on October 23rd, 2009

The Club has presented the proposals to the Parish at the October and November Parish Council Meetings.  In addition, all parishioners have been provided with information in a Parish Magazine Flyer which also advertised a ‘Drop-in’ meeting at the Greet Hall in December.  Since then, we have also attended a special Open Meeting arranged by the Parish Council in February.

As a result of this consultation process, we are pleased to let you know that the Parish Council are presently conducting a voting process that will provide a decision at the March Parish Council Meeting.  It will decide whether the nets will be sited at the eastern end of the Green or adjacent to the tennis courts.
